The disciplinary jury of the African Football Confederation composed of:
-osman yassin (Djibouti)
– Youssouf Ali djae (Comoros)
– Issa Sama (Burkina Faso)
And Miss Sarah El adawy disciplinary coordinator of CAF
sat on January 30, 2020 during its meeting held in Laâyoune the jury examined all the documents relating to the withdrawal of Tunisia CHAN 2020.
Indeed on December 31, 2019 the Tunisian federation sent a letter to CAF declaring its withdrawal from CHAN Cameroon 2020.
On January 20, 2020, the organizing committee for the African Nations Championship made the decision to replace Tunisia with Libya, and the Libyan federation was duly notified by the said decision.
The Libyan Federation agreed to replace the Tunisian football federation and notified it to the caf on January 28, 2020
Considering the statutes of CAF
Considering the rules of the African Nations Championship in its article 78
The CAF disciplinary jury decided:
-Finish the Tunisian football federation a fine of $ 50,000 (fifty thousand us dollars) since the Tunisian football federation declared the withdrawal of its team after the qualifying phase before the draw for the competition
– To suspend the Tunisian football federation for the next edition of the African Nations Championship
The fine must be paid in dollars within sixty (60) days of notification of this decision.
- The Tunisian football federation has the right to challenge this decision before the CAF appeal jury, of course if it wants to appeal it must state its intention to do so within 3 days.
