Two letters from FOUZI LEKJA’A president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation who testifies at the request of FIFA on the case of former CAF president Ahmad Ahmad.

here is the content of the first letter which is entitled “WITNESS STATEMENT” Fouzi Lekjaa

At the request of FIFA and assisted by one of its legal advisers, I have prepared the following statement, which I fully confirm:

1- I have been president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation since 2014.

2- I can confirm that on May 8, 2018, I received an email from Mrs. Sarah Kamel, personal assistant to the president of CAF, Mr. Ahmad informing me to perform OMRA during the first week of Ramadan from 19 to May 24, 2018.
The departure from my respective country would take place on May 17 and the return on May 25

3- I have never received a personalized invitation from the Union of Arab Football Associations UAFA, not even when I held a position within this association as an executive member!

The second letter which dates from the same day shows the salary of the president of CAF

At the request of FIFA and with the assistance of a member of its legal department, I have prepared this statement in which I can fully confirm that:

1- On May 8, 2017, I was appointed chairman of the CAF remuneration committee by virtue of a decision of the executive committee taken on the same day.

2- On July 20, 2017, during a meeting of the CAF executive committee organized in Rabat, I presented the proposal developed by the remuneration committee with regard to the president’s salary.

The total remuneration of the President of CAF was as follows:

A. Monthly Salary: USD 40,000

B. Annual bonus: USD 80,000

3. Since this meeting of the Executive Committee of July 20, 2017, no modification of the salary conditions of the President of CAF has been discussed or agreed by the Remuneration Committee or by the Executive Committee of CAF.

5. In addition, I can also confirm, subject to paragraph 3 above, that no salary compensation or any other bonus of any kind has been discussed or decided in favor of Mr. Ahmad within the remuneration committee or by the executive committee of CAF

As a reminder Fouzi Lekjaa was the president of the finance commission under the chairmanship of Ahmad Ahmad, and the new president of CAF, Patrice Motsepe, confirmed Fouzi Lekjaa at the head of the finance commission, after having him – even proposed to the Executive Committee which validated this nomination during the last meeting held in Kigali, Rwanda, the Zambian Andrew Kamanga was appointed to the post of vice-president of the said commission.
